Investments in trans-European transport 21/02/2014
On February 20, 2014 was held at the Conference Hall of the Natural Sciences Museum Complex a meeting with the theme “Connecting Europe Mechanism (MCE). Financing instruments of Transport Infrastructure” to accelerate investment in trans-European transport networks and raising funds, from both public and private sector. In the 2014-2020 period, MCE will have a budget of 26 billion euros. The organizer of this conference was Ms. Silvia Adriana Ticau, Member of European Parliament, and Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Transport and Tourism of the European Parliament.
During the meeting, the delegations of the European Commission and representatives of the Romanian authorities have addressed in discussions with those present the following topics: The new legislative framework for TEN-T and transport policy objectives: EU co-financing for transport investment in 2014-2020, and the possibilities offered by Connecting Europe Mechanism (MCE) and European Structural funds Investment (FSEI); Selection procedures for the Connecting Europe Mechanism (MEC); Romania’s Transport Strategy; JASPERS’ role in preparing a portfolio of successful projects.
