Seminar "Challenges and Opportunities for the Development of Local Communities"

Between 2 and 4 November 2017, the Seminar “Challenges and Opportunities for the Development of Local Communities” took place in Buzău County. Ionuţ Mocanu, Executive Director General, participated on behalf of the TEHNOPOL Association.

The seminar offered the opportunity for structured training focused on the successful implementation of various essential techniques and working tools in the field of local development. The seminar was developed with the support of specialists in the field and as a result of the needs identified in the public administration sector and covered the following topics:

a) Strategic documents for local development and urban regeneration: Integrated Urban Development Strategy and Local Development Strategy – development and implementation;
b) Efficient governance vs. urban regeneration;
c) Rethinking urban policies: mobility, attracting investments, quality of life, community, culture and local identity;
d) Smart local initiatives vs. projects and their role in urban development;
e) Correlation of projects in local development;
f) Good practices at European level;
g) Local development strategies and plans - their importance for sustainable community development, the role of local councilors in the development and implementation process;
h) Projects with reimbursable and non-reimbursable financing - are they necessary or not in the community, project analysis;
i) Institutional communication.

Target group: Personnel with management positions within local public authorities. The seminar was interactive, and participants were asked to be active.
