The 6th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region

The 6th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region took place on October 18 and 19, 2017 in Budapest.

Mr. Ionuţ Mocanu, General Manager, attended the event on behalf of TEHNOPOL Association together with Mr. Marius Humelnicu, the Public Administrator of the City of Galati.

In summary, the Annual Forum’s objective is to provide some answers to the following question: How can we best translate political commitments into policy and operational measures? For the Forum to be as interactive as possible and to encourage dialogue between different stakeholders, a series of workshops were organized as part of the main program of the event. The workshops highlighted some of the key challenges and perspectives related to the following topics: energy security, infrastructure development, clean connectivity, EUSDR and its relationship with non-EU countries, DTP capitalization strategy, present and future of the Transnational Danube Program and the funding mechanisms within the EUSR.

This trip was a good opportunity to renew collaboration contacts, but also to create new ones. The event was jointly organized by Hungary (the current EUSDR Presidency), the European Commission and the Danube Transnational Program.
